DropSite Courier™ Help

Installation:

Just copy the DropSite Courier folder from the CD on to your hard disk. When you start up DSC Config you'll need to enter the license number from your CD.

What is it ?

DropSite Courier is an application that creates small file transfer icons which users can drop files on and have them delivered via FTP to a predetermined server. The target customer wants to have end users to drag and drop files for delivery with little or no interaction. With DropSite Courier you can give end users a reconfigured icon to transfer their files to your server. You can e-mail it to them and tell them to put it on the desktop and drop their files on it when they are ready.

DropSite Courier™ has two parts: a configuration program and the DropSites it generates.

How is it different from the Original DropSite ?

DropSite Courier works a lot like the original DropSite but there are some major differences:

• The DropSite Courier icons are fully self contained applications that can be copied to other computers without needing the DropSite Prefs File; they vary in size with the about box picture you supply but will probably be more like 200k bytes. Original DropSite creates files that are about 9k bytes in size each of which relies on the DropSite Engine and the Prefs file.
• The creator of the DropSite Courier icons may allow any or all settings to be changed by their end user. Users can never change the name of the file server, though.
• DropSite Courier can be configured to e-mail a file manifest when delivery is complete.
• DropSite Courier allows only a single destination.
