Before DropSite can deliver your files via Email you need to set up your Email Defaults. DropSite needs some basic information about your internet setup; like your Email address and the mail server your ISP has assigned you. Bring up the Email Settings window by choosing Email Settings from the Options menu or with Command-E.
SMTP Server: This is the name of the mail server your ISP assigned you for sending mail. It might have a name like smtp.frodis.com. Some ISP's might have you use a different SMTP server to send your mail than the one you use to read your mail. You can check the Email client you normally use to help you figure out the name of the server. You might need to contact your ISP.
From: This is your Email address. Your ISP may require this in order to use their SMTP server. Make sure you fill this field in.
Reply To: This is an optional field. Use this if you want the receiver of your files to reply to another address rather than the "From" address.
X-Headers: You can define and use up to three X-Headers. X-Headers are extra fields in the Email message the DropSite will deliver your files in. They are 'X'tra headers that Email clients will not interpret but you may use for your own purposes. You might, for instance, add a header to help the receiver's Email client sort incoming messages. Perhaps you send files with a "X-Monthly Report" label and the text "Productivity". The recipients could set up their Email client to put messages they get with this X-Header in a special folder. If you don't fill in the fields the X-Headers aren't used.
Encoding: This will be the default encoding method for new addresses you define.
