Automatic File Transfer

DropSite Courier is an application that creates small file transfer icons which users can drop files on and have them delivered via FTP to a predetermined server. The target customer wants to have end users to drag and drop files for delivery with little or no interaction. With DropSite Courier you can give end users a preconfigured icon to transfer their files to your server. You can e-mail it to them and tell them to put it on the desktop and drop their files on it when they are ready.

Do customers need to send you files ?

If so, DSC is a tool you need. With a link on your website users can download a DropSite that you have already configured. You can e-mail it to them as an enclosure. It'll only be about 200kb. Allow them to set up an ID and password if you like. If you need update their download settings just export the settings and e-mail them to your user. All they have to do is drop the update on and the settings are changed!

How is it different from the Original DropSite ?

DropSite Courier works a lot like the original DropSite but there are some major differences:

• The DropSite Courier icons are fully self contained applications that can be copied to other computers without needing the DropSite Prefs File; they vary in size with the about box picture you supply but will probably be at least 200k bytes. Original DropSite creates files that are about 9k bytes in size each of which relies on the DropSite Engine and the Prefs file.
• The creator of the DropSite Courier icons may allow any or all settings to be changed by their end user. Users can never change the name of the file server, though.
• DropSite Courier can be configured to e-mail a file manifest when delivery is complete.
• DropSite Courier allows only a single destination.
